The Healthy Development Lab is comprised of Dr. Markey, graduate students from psychology (M.A.) and prevention science (Ph.D.), undergraduate students (mostly health science and psychology majors), and recent graduates that continue to collaborate with the lab.

In the Healthy Development Lab, we study issues related to eating, weight, body image and health in general.  Most of this research focuses on social influences on health such as romantic partners, parents, and the media.  At any given time, we are typically collecting data for at least one new study.

Members of the lab are also interested in promoting health through involvement in campus and community efforts to educate people about the issues that we study, especially body image.
